I have created a custom table which I created a menu item through user role as listdetail. All appears well and works as expected ie adding new records to the table except for when i wish to edit a record. It says the record already exists as if it is trying to add instead of update the record. Any suggestions to why this may be? It worked fine until i upgraded to 5.3.x.

Here's a guess:

You might have created it in a format that is not accepted, such as including a space in the name of your table.  If this is the case, the table will be in SQL but not show up in IS.  If this is what happened, you will more than likely need to go into SQL with SQL Managment Studio and remove it manually.

Hope this helps.

Actually it was all done through the datadictionary and is recognized by IS. Its a matter of editing the records added to the table. I was hoping to use the simple listdetail interface IS offers for menu items but it only seems to work for adding records but not editing. I guess i could always edit them in sql until we have someone revamp some of our customizations toward the end of the year/beginning of next.
