Lets say you want to find a stock item by a fields contents other than Item Name or Description how do you set this up?

i.e. 4.1.1. Inventory Item Find....Enter search criteria...Hoping it searchs the commodity code contents.

Even if you add the Commodity Code to the data dictionary as a searchable field - it is still not searched.

What am I missing - I know this i9s suppose to be easy to do.

Cheers

Check to see if the field is searchable and 'on list' in the InventoryItemView.

Hi

Thanks for your input.

I had tried that already i.e.
In Data Dictionary...Views...System Views....InventoryItemView
Commodity: Check Searchable, Check Show On List

The records - do not show up on 4.1.1. or items list when entering an Invoice item line.

Cheers,

For the item list when entering invoices, that is controlled by the saleitemview.

For finding items in inventory, I believe that is controlled by the inventoryitemmenuview.

I will check on both though.

Spot on - you are a star

Now I should be able to figure out how to scan in bar codes into a sales Invoice (for a simple EPOS). Looks like a join to the table holding the UPC data.

Many thanks for your assistance on this.
