What are the minimum requirements I need to purchase from DEVX in order to do simple SDK changes? Do I need both Winforms and WEB ? Do I need an entire subscription for $1299. That seems an awful lot for just getting started. What can I get away with the get my feet wet?

Mark,

You need the DXperience WinForms.  You don't need the Web stuff.  It's $799 for the first year and $299/yr after that (I think).

Right now, you'll need to log in and download the older version 7.3.3 once you purchase.

Best regards,

Correct me if I'm wrong, but didn't DevX offer a discount for Interprise SDK users at one point.  It might be worth reaching out to IS to see if that discount is still available.

So you need to buy and install DevExpress before you can create plugins with the SDK? We are experiencing similar issues here. We create a 'HelloWorld' plugin following the instructions, but the project can't find and of the DevExpress dll's. By searching, we find most of them within the Intperprise install, but if we manually set the references, we still get "... can't find file or dependency.." errors ... please tell us exactly what is required to build plugins with regards to DevExpress. Thank you.

There's no way to remove the DevExpress requirements and it is necessary to build all the plugins for sure.

Building all the plugins is a must..If you don't do so you will not be successful in getting the output..
