I have a customer who is using SP5.3 and some of the products have quantities that show up in Other locations column. This is affecting his QTY Available. When I try to look in the Item screen and use the Warehouse TAB the Other Locations says 0.0. Yet in Invoicing it shows a qty. How can I correct or see why this data is different?

Is it possible this customer has more than one warehouse? Could the numbers be coming from a different warehouse?

We have this same problem. I am not sure if it had anything to do with changing the name of the main warehouse location but in the invoice screen, other location has a qty populated meanwhile the item screen shows zero. And we have only one warehouse location.

Mlittman & Naylard,

The problem you are having is the inventory stock location totals do not match the transactions that make them up. They keep totals for each inventory item for each location. Inside this table, it says there is zero in the 'Other Locations' (meaing Locations 2 - 9). I was able to reproduce this by doing an internal movement from Location1 to Location4. Then went into the file and cleared out the Location4 Quantity.

Item Screen:

Looking at the Item Ledger (to view the movements):

The only way to fix this problem is to fix the quantitiy inside the inventory stock location table. Here are the steps (Make sure only administrators do this):
1) Open SQL Management Studio
2) Open your SQL Database
3) 'Open' the InventoryStock table - This should open the table so you can view the data. Be careful in here because you can change data which will destory the data if done so.
4) Locate the item having your problem using the item name. Once found, write down whats in the ItemCode field. Should be similar to ITEM-000001.
5) 'Open' the InventoryLocationStockCount table - This should open the table so you can view the data.
6) Locate the item by using the ItemCode you got from Step 4 (You should see one record per item per location).
7) Locate your item/location combination (again by using the ItemCode from Step 4 and the Location from what is in the Item Ledger while viewing the item). Once found, update the UnitsInStock field to the correct quantity.
8) Once completed, walk off the record (select the next record), and exit SQL Management Studio.
9) Review the item within IS and it should be correct now.

Hope this helps.

I am sure this may be just us, but we are only using one location (which is 0 in the invenlocstock table for all other locations except for 1) and this is happening to the majority of our most invoiced items.

Is it possible adding the PO/Bill after the fact may attribute to this issue? Had a few occations where we billed out the item then added the PO later.
